INFLUENCE OF Ni ADDITION ON THE PROPERTIES OF Fe-Cu-Nb-Si-B RIBBONS

Jozef Sitek - Jarmila Degmová - Ignác Tóth

The influence of nickel addition on Fe78.5-xNixNb3Cu1Si13.5B9 (x=10-40) nanocrystalline and amorphous alloys was studied by means of 57Mössbauer spectroscopy. The alloys were isothermally annealed at a temperature 550°C in the time range from 0.5 to 5.0 hours. Depending on the heat treatment conditions, a series of samples with different volumetric fraction of the nanocrystalline grain embedded in the amorphous matrix were obtained. Up to the Ni concentration (x=10), the crystalline phase correspond to DO3-Fe-Si alloy. Above x>10, thus for higher Ni content, Ni formed the Fe1-xNix and Fe-Si phase. The size of these compositional changes will depend on the chemical composition of the alloy.

Keywords: nanocrystalline alloys, soft magnetic materials, Mössbauer spectroscopy, kinetic of crystallization
