ANALYTICAL GAIN ESTIMATION USING VOICE ACTIVITY DETECTORS
Holger Boche - Enrico Jugl
The capacity of mobile communication systems can be increased by exploiting
quiet periods of the voice. AT&T has investigated this fact in the late
sixties. Still, the founded capacity gain holds only for a large number of
users. In this article an analytical estimation is derived for the case that
a certain number of subscribers are active. This is done by estimating the
probability for a certain difference in terms of the theoretical gain.
