A NOVEL INTEGRATED ANGULAR ACCELERATION, VELOCITY AND POSITION SENSOR

The paper presents a novel integrated angular acceleration, velocity and position sensor for mechatronic applications. The sensor provides complete state information, eg angular position, velocity and acceleration.
The principle of angular acceleration sensing is based on transformation of angular acceleration to a relative radial displacement of two discs, which is sensed by optical pickup independently of the rotation speed. The sensor
has an unlimited rotation range and its parameters can be modified in a wide range, which is considered to be an advantage.
