CROSSTALK ANALYSIS IN MULTICONDUCTOR INTERCONNECT SYSTEMS

Václav Dvořák - Josef Schwarz

An efficient method for the time domain simulation of multiconductor interconnect systems modelled by mutually coupled lossless lines with linear as well as nonlinear terminations is presented. Our approach is based on well known principles of the decoupling of the partial differential equations. The numerical methods based on double use of Jacobi's technique for matrix eigenvalues is original in the context of transient solution of coupled transmission lines. A general circuit model of coupled transmission lines is presented which is composed of the resistive multipole and of voltage sources in all n outputs. The model is then analysed by a program tool TACTL, which is illustrated on two coupled twisted pairs and a flat cable.
