THE USE OF FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS PACKAGES FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC ANALYSIS SIMULATION ANDDESIGN OF INDUCTION HEATING

   The aim of the paper is to draw attention to a new method of electrical engineering design which is based on the solution of the electromagnetic or, as the case may be, other physical eg temperature) field. The method relies on the use of finite element analysis packages. The induction heating of a short cylinder is solved as an illustrative example by using the PC-2D package.
