SOLUTION OF SOME ELECTRICAL DEVICES PROBLEMS BY SIMULATION METHODS

In the last years, computer simulation has reached a significant position in the
investigation and development of technical products. Simulation programmes and
computer utilization have found application also in the area of electrical
devices. At our workplace we have used simulation programmes for many years to
investigate transient phenomena mainly at short-circuit current breaking in
miniature circuit breakers (MCB), short faults and forming of surge waves for
testing circuit. Computer programmes allow solving difficult tasks of thermal,
magnetic and electrical fields, and tasks of mechanical stresses. In the
contribution, mainly solutions of some problems in MCB and contactors are
presented.
