PERSONAL COMPUTER DEBUG PORT
Zdenek Dokoupil
This article describes a new interface
(alternative way of serial communication) between a
personal computer and several remote Motorola's
digital signal processors DSP96002. An on-chip
emulator serial port was used for fast loading and
saving the contents of X, Y and P memories. A new
host-bus interface board for controlling up to 5
target applications and utility programs were
developed. The achievable speed of communication is
up to 55 kword/s for saving and
24 k word/s for
loading DSP memories (word = 32 bits).
