DIAMOND THIN FILM DEPOSITION AND APPLICATIONS - OVERVIEW

   Diamond has attracted research interest over the past few years because of its excellent intrinsic properties. The scope of the present paper encompasses the developments and applications of diamond technology, starting with a brief description of diamond history. Diamond deposition techniques are summarized with extended description of chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Environments required for obtaining the growth of diamond thin films are briefly viewed and many interesting related phenomena observed in the diamond growth and nucleation processes are summarized.
