ORGANIC MONOMOLECULAR LAYERS AND ORDERED MOLECULAR SYSTEMS

   Monomolecular assemblies on substrates, now termed Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films, exhibit many interesting properties and can perform functions which give them perspectives to impact advanced technologies in an important way. In this article we review our recent research efforts aimed at the fabrication of such organic molecular systems, the study of electrical transport and optical properties, and applications in LEDs and electrochemical microsensors.
