NEW CONSTRUCTION OF THE [40,12,14] OPTIMAL CODE

   This paper presents a novel simple construction of the [40,12,14] binary linear block code which reaches the upper bound of [1] for best known codes. It is shown that the designed code has different weight spectra than the known [40,12,14] codes constructed by Bierbrauer and Edel [2].
