INTELLIGENT CONTROL OF POWER PLANTS AND PROCESSES

The paper presents a possible application of intelligent (fuzzy adaptive and
optimal) control in the power generation system. This method of control
considerably improves the quality of control and reduces the effects of
nonlinearity, parameter changes and disturbance values on system behavior.
The obtained results, along with knowledge and experience gained in the
development and application of fuzzy adaptive and optimal control of
electromechanical systems open new fields of intelligent control
application in both power plant processes (boiler, turbine, synchronous
generator, electric motor drive, etc), power plant itself and the power
generating system as a whole.
