HISTORY OF AUTOMATION AND TRENDS IN MODELLING AND CONTROL OF PROCESSES

   The paper deals with the history of automation and mainly with the problems of modeling and simulation of a production line as a Discrete Events Dynamic System. In the part of the trends the approach is described to the design and optimal operation of a production line on the basis of different criterion.
