The paper presents partial results of the Department of Electrical Machines and Devices staff members - solving equations of the
field-harmonic theory of the induction machine, transformer leakage inductance explanation, solving some problems of synchronous motors
with permanent magnets using the final element method and simulation, solving the temperature distribution in the electrical contact,
breakdown of small air-gaps and behaviour of breaking arc in the extinguishing chamber of MCB, analysing the influence of equipment
containing semiconductor devices on the supply network and the methods of their compensation.
