CAPABILITY OF THREE-PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR ON CONTINUOUS SINGLE-PHASE OPERATION

   The 3-phase induction-motor may have to run 1-phase either accidentally or deliberately. The object of this paper is to investigate continuous 1-phase running near synchronous speed, including the derivation of the permissible currents and the corresponding mechanical output, as compared with the original 3-phase design ratings of the motor.
