SIMPLE WAY FOR SOLUTION OF THERMAL FIELDS IN MO-SURGE ARRESTERS

ZnO materials are utilized in power engineering and electrotechnics
as basic elements of surge arresters with or without gaps. The
accelerated ageing method was performed in laboratory conditions -
thermal, electrical and combined stress within the range of 0 - 4 000
hours at maximal temperature 140 oC - on metal oxide (MO)
arresters which are used in 22 kV voltage distribution network.
On the basis of leakage current measurements during the ageing of
MO-arresters, the simple thermal model of complete MO-arrester was
introduced. Thermal processes on the model were solved using
electroanalogy method.
