ADAPTIVE CORRELATION VELOCIMETRY BY ADSP PROCESSOR

Dmitry Vassiliev - Sergey Serebryak

An effective algorithm for the searchless adaptive correlation velocity meters (ACVM) is carried out by an appropriate single-cheap microcomputer of ADSP21XX family. The work demonstrates wide possibilities of the processor as well as advantages of the algorithm used - low errors, high acting speed and invariancy to signal structures along compactness and cheapness. There are submitted a generalized ACVM algorithm, experimental results and estimations of achievable meter features at different signal spectra and various motion parameters. The opportunities of employment of ACVM in many spaces (transport, power, industry, medical instruments) for nonmechanical metering the parameters of relative motion in the nonuniform fields of various physical nature by use the suitable coupled sensors are emphasized. Introducing the additional timers and multiplexers to the processing chip or module might open a prospect to design the inexpensive systems for multidimensional motion parameter monitoring.

Keywords: velocimetry, adaptive correlation meter, AVCM, microcomputer ADSP21 XX
