POWER SYSTEM STABILIZATION USING SELF TUNING PRINCIPLE
Ján Murga
This paper deals with the design of an efficient power system
stabilizer (PSS) which optimizes the power system damping so that
the complex power system is stable even under large system
disturbances. A co-ordinated control of the turbine and the
generator excitation has been applied. The design is based upon
the self tuning principle and uses a multi-input multi-output
(MIMO) controller structure. The efficiency of the designed
control has been tested on a simulation model of a real power
system.
