Present applied research was aimed to design and develop a simple enough, automated cryogenic SQUID magnetometer for the precision analytical measurements of magnetic characteristics of new promising materials. This system, working in a wide temperature range (1.6 – 300 K) in magnetic fields up to 5 T, was developed on the base of the laboratory AC-SQUID magnetometer setup. An application of innovative techniques in the production of magnetometer units allowed realising main advantages of this system such as simplicity and cheapness, high accuracy and full automation of data collecting process. As a result, our test experiments of the produced SQUID magnetometer reveal that the following parameters could be achieved: accuracy 10-8 emu, dynamic range 107, and temperature measurement and stabilization accuracy at sample throw length (8 cm) about 0.2 %.

Keywords: SQUID magnetometry, magnetic measurements, low temperatures
