MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Eu-SUBSTITUTED NiZn FERRITES

Vladimír Jančárik - Martin Šoka - Elemír Ušák - Mariana Ušáková

Polycrystalline NiZn ferrites substituted by the rare-earth ions (Eu) with the chemical composition Ni0.42Zn0.58EuxFe2–xO4, where x = 0.00, 0.02, 0.04 and 0.06 prepared by ceramic technique based on solid-state reaction method at 1200°C are analysed. The paper is aimed at the investigation of the influence of small amount of Eu3+ ions on magnetic properties of prepared NiZn ferrite ma-terials at low frequencies. Basic magnetic properties such as Curie temperature TC, coercivity Hc, remanent magnetic flux density Br, hysteresis loop area proportional to the total magnetisation loss, amplitude and initial permeability as well as the temperature dependence of magnetic properties were studied. Usual procedure of quick specimen evaluation is described.

Keywords: ferrite powder analysis, thermomagnetic analysis, substituted ferrite
